The
Hong Kong Toys and Games
Fair and Hong Kong International Stationery Fair 2005 were back for
good, with bigger scale, higher attendance and higher degree in international
participation.
Held concurrently
from 11-14 January, 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition
Centre, the two fairs attracted over 1900 exhibitors from 35 countries
and regions to showcase their latest collections of toys and games,
office equipment and stationery. Eight group pavilions had taken
part in the fair, which included Chinese mainland, Germany, Italy,
Korea, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan and Thailand.
Hong Kong Toys
and Games Fair 2005 has entered into its 31st year. The fair
has witnessed a 7 per cent increase in the number of overseas exhibitors
while number of local exhibitors has also grown by 3 per cent. This
year, the fair has attracted companies from Colombia, France, Slovenia,
Switzerland and Turkey to take part for the first time.
As the world's
second largest and Asia's biggest fair of its kind, Hong Kong Toys
and Games Fair has been making dedicated effort in product diversification.
The fair this year has seen the introduction of Magic Section and
the expansion of Outdoor and Sporting Items Section. Hobby Goods
Section had also made a return which showcased an interesting range
of models, action figures, puzzles, miniatures, collectibles and
more.
Hong Kong Toys
and Games Fair, as a one-stop shop service platform, has also included
a wide array of trade-related services in the Hong Kong Services
Pavilion. These services covered product design, marketing, legal
service (including IPR protection), licensing, financial issues
and logistic services, on-site expertise for buyers and exhibitors,
etc.
The first Hong
Kong Toy Conference 2005 titled 'Summit on the Way Ahead' was held
on the third day of the fair. Hosted by the Toys Manufacturers'
Association of Hong Kong, the conference featured six international
industry leaders to share their insights on how to face the global
competition by setting strategic priorities, implementing innovative
practices and business models. Other informative seminars include
'ICTI CARE Process' by HK Toys Council, the International Stationery
Fair Licensing Seminar, 'Loss Minimization through Effective Debt
Management' by Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation, 'Product
Safety in Europe - General Product Safety Directive (GPSD)' by RAM,
as well as 'How to Establish Your Brand Name in Chinese Mainland'.
