Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair 2006

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) in co-operation with the Hong Kong Exporters' Association, the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair closed its door for this year with a record-breaking number of 3,879 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, a 10% increase over the previous year. The fair was staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wanchai from April 28 to May 1.

A new "Expo Drive Hall" opened for business for the first time, adding an extra 7,000 square metres of exhibition space to accommodate an extra 330 exhibitors from the waiting list. Conveniently located near the main entrance along Expo Drive and equipped with professional lighting and ventilation systems, the new hall was welcomed by visitors.
Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair catered for a wide spectrum of industries producing everything from basic items such as stationery and party decorations to sophisticated goods like ceramics and fashion jewellery.

"Hall of Fine Designs", a premier section devoted to showcasing exquisite and upmarket gift items, featured 49 exhibitors from Hong Kong, Belgium, Germany and the U.S. in addition to two new zones: "Kids' World" and "Ladies' Gifts & Premium".

Other exhibit categories included advertising gifts & premium, ceramic gifts, consumer electronics, corporate gifts, fashion jewellery & accessories, paper & packaging, party & X'mas decorations, pictures & photo frames, silverware, stationery, toys & sporting goods, travel goods & umbrellas, watches & clocks and general gift items.

TDC has organized over 80 buying missions comprising 2,800 companies or over 5,000 VIP buyers to visit the Fair. These included representatives of leading department stores and chain stores such as Cantire (China) Limited and Canadian Tire Corporation from Canada, Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. from the U.S., Idee + spiel, KARSTADT, Eurogroup and Metro Group (with MGB HK) from Germany, Nomura Co., Ltd, Fuji Boeki Co., Ltd and Nitori Co. Ltd. from Japan. Representatives of worldwide buying co-ops like Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), International Advertising Gift & Council (IGC) and International Partnership for Premiums & Gifts (IPPAG) are also invited.
